HOW PREVELANT IS ME?

Prevalence and incidence have been reported over a very broad range, depending on the selection criteria and type of study undertaken. Overall, evidence suggests a population prevalence of at least 0.2% - 0.4%. Estimates for Ireland would put the figure at approximately 12,000 (based upon Irish M.E. Trust mail shots to General Practitioners), which is in line with international figures.
